New: FANS – Born Into

Three seconds is all it take to become completely enthralled with “Born Into”. Drums that berate and hate, tsunamis of guitars crashing and thrashing, and riff that plugs the whole shebang together. It’s Brisbane’s The Creases crossed with Eagulls.

I don’t have a lot to say about this song, other than that it’s easy to obsess with it. It’s a bit NME, but FANS manage to do everything undeniably right, sucker-punching the soft spots of my musical preferences. It’s loud, with big riffs, a guitar solo, played really fast, and has a chorus that’s meant to draw a crowd, any crowd, into a hands-raised, mouths-agape, eyes-bloodshot craze that only the most immersive of bands would be able to pull off.
